Lithuania Picks Heat Over Hype: Atikin and Vilnius Voices Cruise into Eurovizija.LT Final

It’s a brisk winter’s night in Vilnius, and while half the country is still de-icing their windshields, Lithuania’s Eurovision engine is already warming up nicely. The second heat of Eurovizija.LT 2026 has wrapped, and with it, two new finalists have emerged — and no, they’re not here for fleeting internet fame or viral distractions. They’ve come to sing.
Who advanced?
Say a warm labas vakaras to Atikin, whose ball-of-fire anthem “Deganti žemelė” (“Burning Earth”) incinerated the competition with a perfect mix of jury praise and televote affection. And joining him is Vilnius Voices, a harmony-rich group with a hypnotic performance (it’s our guilty pleasure…),“Grįšim” (“We will return”) that clearly struck a chord with both viewers and panellists alike.
Both acts now head straight to the Eurovizija.LT final on February 27, where they’ll face previously qualified:
- Rug!le with “Ikona Žemaitė” (yes, that’s “Samogitian icon” to you),
- and Noy, who told us all to “Stand Up” — and we politely did.
And the others?
While not everyone could snag a golden ticket, Grete with “Parade” secured a spot in the wildcard round, meaning her journey isn’t over yet. She’ll go head-to-head with Thomas G (“One Night Lover”) — a match-up that promises to be less rom-com and more vocal battle royale.
The remaining hopefuls put up a fight — Dagna, Melanija, Agnė Buškevičiūtė, Mėnulio Fazė, and Theya LeRoy — but it just wasn’t their night. The judges weren’t entirely convinced, and the public had other favourites. It happens.
The format: Smart, balanced and refreshingly old-school
LRT’s approach this year is delightfully straightforward: 50% jury, 50% televote. No obscure algorithms, no mystery boxes. Just music, judged by real people (some of whom have probably survived several Eurovision cycles intact).
Last night’s jury, a classy bunch, included:
- Kamilė Gudmonaitė
- Ieva Narkutė
- Vytautas Bikus
- Ramūnas Zilnys
- Kristupas Naraškevičius
Meanwhile, the evening was hosted with the kind of effortless charm that makes you want to start your own Lithuanian talk show, courtesy of Gabrielė Martirosian, Eglė Kernagytė, and Rimvydas Černiauskas.
And just to keep things extra musical, the duo Kamanių šilelis stopped by for a guest performance of “Ir ramu, ir neramu” — a song title that roughly translates as “It’s calm and it’s not,” which, let’s face it, is also how most of us feel during Eurovision season.
Lithuania isn’t playing around
No gimmicks. No gold confetti overload. Just solid acts, passionate performances, and the kind of songs that make you forget you’re watching a national final and not the main event.
Atikin is already radiating main-character energy, while Vilnius Voices deliver something that feels both familiar and fresh. And for those who didn’t make it? There’s always next year (or, you know, San Marino).
