Cyprus Gets the Party Started: Antigoni to Perform “JALLA” at Eurovision 2026

You know it’s getting real when Cyprus shows up early — again. While the rest of Europe is still umm-ing and ahh-ing over semi-finalists and teaser trailers, CyBC has casually dropped the mic: Antigoni will represent Cyprus at the 70th Eurovision Song Contest in Vienna, and her song is called “JALLA”.
Go on then, Cyprus. Always the early bird. And if the title’s anything to go by, they’re not just catching the worm — they’re throwing it a club night.
Antigoni: Greek-British pop power with a point to prove
Born and raised in London, Antigoni is no stranger to the spotlight — or the studio. With her signature honey-blonde curls and a voice made for Mediterranean sunsets and Spotify algorithms alike, she’s spent the last few years cooking up bangers that blend ethnic flair with contemporary pop. Think olive oil meets glitter eyeliner (but again — no glitter here, we promised).
Cyprus, ever the strategic Eurovision player, seems to know what it’s doing. The island has built a reputation for polished entries with international appeal, and picking Antigoni continues that tradition. Since 2023, they’ve been the Eurovision equivalent of a well-organised student — first to hand in their assignment, and not half bad at it either.
When will we hear it?
The full reveal of “JALLA” is set for 8 February — first on RIK 1 during the 19:00 CET news bulletin, then at 20:00 CET on all the usual streaming suspects. No spoilers yet on the sound, but given Antigoni’s discography, we’d wager it’s upbeat, confident, and built for a Euroclub bounce. Bonus points if there’s a bouzouki.
Until then, the title alone has already sparked speculation — does “JALLA” lean into Arabic rhythms, Greek idioms, or pure club anthem territory? Either way, one thing’s certain: Cyprus isn’t here to fade into the background.
What does this mean for Cyprus?
Since Eleni Foureira lit the stage on fire in 2018 (figuratively, don’t panic), Cyprus has been chasing that elusive first win with serious intent. While results have been mixed, the ambition hasn’t wavered. With Antigoni, they’re clearly banking on a performer with international crossover potential, homegrown flair, and just enough mystery to keep the Eurofandom on their toes.
Whether “JALLA” becomes a new fan favourite or just a really catchy playlist staple, Cyprus has, once again, made it known: they’ve arrived. Early. Loud. And with purpose.
